A note from the new guy Hello! I have been serving as the “Coordinator of Evangelization Ministries” for over two months now. This position has two major components. One component is Youth Ministry, which includes youth group, fundraising, retreats and more. The second component is working with Evangelical Catholic, a Madison-based nonprofit on an evangelization outreach in this parish. We are training small group leaders to lead scripture-based small groups during Lent in 2019. We are excited about this initiative, and our parish consultant from Evangelical Catholic, Andrea Jackson has been working hard to help us launch this movement. There will be 3 types of small groups available, men’s groups, women’s groups, and mixed groups. These are all adult groups, for age 18 and up. Getting back to Youth Ministry, I was recently was notified that “Camp Crosswoods” which is the location of “Adventure Camp”, is being sold. This means that “Adventure Camp” will either change significantly, be discontinued, or be held at another camp. Chris Rogers, Director of the Office for Youth and Young Adult Ministry at the Diocese of La Crosse, is working out possible options and alternatives. I am working to start the Bible studies at Spencer High School during lunch again soon. Watch the bulletin for updates. I am planning to continue the Pilgrimage for Life Trips, the next one is January 16-20th, 2019. Please think and pray about joining us, as this is one of our best trips in Youth Ministry. I will also continue the Jars for Life fundraiser, so please be generous in supporting the pilgrims when they are available. The best way to contact me is by email, and please sign up for text and email youth ministry updates through Flock- note. Simply text the word “pope” to 84576, or visit this link to sign up. https://app.flocknote.com/religiousedyouthministry God Bless! – David Alcott
